For over thirty years Nicole Barr has produced beautiful jewellery in silver and gold with vitreous enamel details . Kiln fired in an array of colours the enamels enhance every piece.
These techniques were used by famous designers like Fabergé, Tiffany and Lalique in the 1900’s.
One of the more difficult and impressive techniques is called Plique-a-jour which means “glimpse of day”. This is where translucent enamel is suspended in the spaces left in the metal; giving a delightful stained glass effect.
